Our Heating System

We have invested significant time and resources to equip our apartments with state-of-the-art heating systems. Our hydronic underfloor heating and sanitary hot water system is powered mostly by one of the world’s most efficient air heat pumps.

Hydronic (water-borne) underfloor heating responds gradually, maintaining constant heat levels by circulating hot water through pipes in the concrete floor. In some cases, we use radiators in older parts of the building.

The thermostat on the wall of each room shows the actual temperature, not the target temperature (the up/down arrow shows the desired or target temperature).

It is programmed centrally but sometimes people fiddle with the settings. If it’s too hot or cold, please let us know.

If it is topping up the heat, a flame image will be shown. The ice image means it’s in standby.

Should you need to change the temperature, press the up or down arrow and then the ‘tick’ to confirm the temperature. It will revert later to its programmed temperature.

Powered by a CO2 Air-to-Water Heat Pump

Our heating and hot water system is powered by a Mitsubishi Q-ton. it’s a state-of-the-art CO2 air-to-water heat pump, providing high efficiency with low carbon emissions.

The Q-ton contains the world’s first two-stage compressor (combining rotary and scroll technology). It maintains high efficiency and significantly improves performance at low ambient air temperatures. It uses an environmentally friendly refrigerant (R744) which poses a Global Warming Potential of 1.0 and an Ozone Depletion Potential of 0.

With an industry leading COP (Coefficient of Performance) of 4.3, Q-ton generates hot water from 60°C to 90°C without the requirement for an electric immersion heater backup.

In addition, in some apartments, we provide an air conditioner which is controlled by a remote control.
